Speech - Language Therapy

Speech-language therapy supports children in developing effective communication skills across a wide range of areas. Therapy may target speech sound production, understanding and using language, social communication, voice, feeding, fluency (stuttering), or alternative communication methods (AAC).

In-person or virtual sessions are individualized, evidence-based, and designed to build confidence while helping each child reach their full communication potential—at home, in school, and in the community.

Receptive/Expressive Language

We help children understand language (receptive) and use words and sentences to express themselves (expressive). Therapy can focus on following directions, answering questions, processing auditory input, using vocabulary, forming complete sentences, etc.

Articulation & Phonology

We work on helping children pronounce sounds clearly and correctly. This may involve addressing individual sound errors (articulation) or patterns of errors (phonological processes) that affect overall speech clarity.

Fluency (Stuttering)

Therapy focuses on helping children who stutter speak more smoothly and confidently. We support both the physical aspects of speech and the emotional experiences that often accompany stuttering.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)

For children who have limited spoken language, we introduce and support the use of tools like picture systems, communication devices, or sign language to help them express themselves effectively.

Social Communication/ Pragmatic Language

This includes the use of language in social situations—like taking turns in conversation, understanding body language, or staying on topic. Therapy supports children in building meaningful interactions with others.

Voice

Voice therapy supports children with concerns such as hoarseness, vocal fatigue, or pitch and volume control. We promote healthy voice use and techniques to reduce strain on the vocal cords.

Feeding  & Swallowing

We assess and treat difficulties related to chewing, swallowing, or managing different textures of food. Therapy can support children with sensory sensitivities, picky eating, or medical conditions affecting feeding.
